The Coronavirus Pandemic- April 25, 2020

Today is Saturday. I'm surprised I can remember. I feel I need underwear that has the days of the week on them. Even though I'm still working full-time, it's hard to keep track of the days sometimes.

Today started like every other Saturday though. I rolled out of bed around 10 AM after a restless night's sleep, let the dog out, and had a not-so-healthy breakfast. I skipped dinner last night, which was a mistake because around 10 PM I was really hungry, so Emily and I shared a bag of popcorn and enjoyed a snack-size bag of Famous Amos cookies, while we watched, "Step Sisters" on Netflix in my bed for a Mommy-Daughter night. It's funny that I say, "Mommy-Daughter Night" since that's every night now!

After a bowl of granola cereal and pop-tarts, I was feeling less-than-motivated to do anything. I thought it was going to be a rainy day, but it looked like it was going to turn out to be a nice day afterall. Still, I didn't feel like getting dressed, so I watched a documentary on Jane Goodall on Disney+ and waited for sleeping beauty to awake (that would be Emily). She finally came down around 1 PM and we started watching the first season of "Victorious" on Netflix. I think it's funny how at age 42, I'm still entertained by those shows. Emily really enjoyed it because it's about an art school and she goes to one, but let me tell you, it's nothing like what you see on that show. She related more to the school in "The Freedom Writers".

Harry left for work around 4:00. Shortly before I decided I needed to get out and get some exercise so I told Emily to get dressed and we were heading to Ballantyne Corporate Park to throw the frisbee. We threw the skates in the car just in case we wanted to do something different or if the lawn was crowded. To our surprise, there was just a small group having a picnic at one of the tables in the shade and a few walkers and bikers here and there. We pretty much had the lawn to ourselves. After about 40 minutes of throwing the frisbee, we decided to take advantage of the huge flat parking lot and pretend it was a giant skating rink. I figured if I fell there, nobody would see me. We laced up the boots and took off, skating in circles for another 40 minutes or so. Our adventure ended with a short walk around the pond. It's now dinner time. I am so relieved I got out and got moving. It's amazing how much better a body feels once you make it move!

I'm not sure what's on the list of activities for tonight other than dinner. Emily is doing some Diamond Art. I'm sure you've gotten the ads for it on your social media pages. Don't waste your money! I'll think I'll work on this website a bit more and maybe continue studying for my Microsoft Office Specialist test.

Here's 5 seconds of serenity for you.
