The Coronavirus Pandemic-April 5, 2020

Today would have been Dad's birthday. Happy birthday!

Each day I wake up sad. It's not until Emily comes downstairs from her 12 hours of sleep that I cheer up. I spend most days in my PJ's and apply make-up on physical therapy days or days I know I have to be on video conferencing. I snack all day and have gained about 7 lbs in 3 weeks. I feel gross. Gaining weight makes me feel even worse and more insecure.

People are afraid to leave their homes without a mask. Some are washing their mail and groceries with rubbing alcohol before taking them inside. There is no rubbing alcohol to be found in any stores or online. I need it for my electrodes for physical therapy. Luckily, I have a little left. Apparently, spaghetti noodles are the next big item people are hoarding.

I got up early and watched, "The Boy Who Harnessed the Wind" on Netflix. When everyone woke up, we watched, "Hotel Transylvania 3". Let's see, what else did we do today? We watched, "Unstopable" on Netflix; ruined the wheels on Emily's EZ Roller; threw the frisbee in the street for about a half-hour; came in and roasted potatoes and grilled hamburgers; watched, "Naked Gun 2 1/2;" Emily killed a spider; I ordered new skate wheels and wheels for the EZ Roller; and plan on ordering photos on Shutterfly to scrapbook with.

Here are today's stats:

Globally: 1,237,420 confirmed cases in 183 countries

US: 321,762 confirmed cases; 9,132 deaths

NC: 2,550 confirmed cases; 35 deaths

SC: 1,917 confirmed cases
